I am finally realizing my dream of having my own pretty place on the web! My new address is simply. http://www.wideeyedwonders.com . Come visit me there!!!
Christian’s First Christmas, a set on Flickr.
It was the best kind of day filled with love, laughter, and family Merry Christmas to you and yours! I thank God for the blessing of His Son on this day!
Hey everyone! I have not had much time to knit this week, but I did cast on for a stocking for Christian. I know I am kind of late with this, but I figure that I can knit him a small one for his first Christmas and knit him a larger one as he grows. I am doing a simple top-up stocking with a short row heel and a rolled edge cuff.
I am just getting ready to start Touching the Clouds (which happens to be free right now for all of you Kindle, or Kindle app owners out there). It is a Christian romance novel about a woman who works as a mail delivery pilot in 1930′s Alaska. I am really excited to dive in!
By the way, the lovely little “knitted” wax warmer light is a gift from my amazing friend Allison! I have wanted a warmer for ages and was delighted when this came in the mail today! I am really spoiled, don’t you think?

I love sharing my projects with you each week, even if it is the same one as the week before I am still plugging away at my candy cane socks and Call Me Mrs. Miracle. I have a good excuse though. I have been super busy this week getting ready for my first party as a host! This Sunday I am hosting a cookie swap party here at my house. Each family is going to bring cookies to share and cookies to swap and I will have drinks and appetizers here. It is sure to be a blast! I am really excited about it, can you tell?
As always, I’m joining along with Ginny’s Yarn Along! Play along and show me what you are working on!
My list is short and sweet today, because Christian has a cold and is going to require lots of cuddles (so far today, if he is not being held by me or Craig, then the world seems to be coming to an end). I have some errands and cleaning to do and prep for my Cookie Swap party this Sunday! The most important thing on my list (other than feeding everyone) is to finish the paper that I had due last night. I will be very glad to finish this class next week!

Oh the weather outside is frightful…well not really, but I am really getting into the Christmas spirit this year! I think it might have something to do with my little man and seeing his wonder at all that Christmas entails
I am knitting some candy cane socks with some fun red tonal Cherry Tree Hill yarn. These are an adaptation of Wendy Johnson’s On-Hold Socks which are super fun on their own. I am really loving the candy canes!
The book here is Call Me Mrs. Miracle. I haven’t started reading this book yet, since I just brought it home a couple of hours ago. I am totally a sucker for a Christmas romance, and Debbie Macomber is one of my favorite authors. I am looking forward to diving into it as soon as my little guy goes to bed!

I am really struggling with motivation to do anything today except for sitting on my butt and snugging my little man. Unfortunately, a weekend without water (long story all thanks to a piece of shale that fell onto my well pump and bound the motor up) means that I have got a cleaning list a mile long. It turns out it is really hard to do laundry, dishes, or any number of cleaning related tasks when you don’t have any water in the house. Who would’ve thought? I am mixing some fun stuff in here in hopes that I can get the cross-off high that will give me motivation for the drudgery. Here we go:
- Dishes x2 – I am kind of amazed that I only have 2 loads to do actually
Laundry x3 Wash down counters Wash down table Make ornaments for Christmas Card swap Clean out the fridge
- Sweep kitchen floor
- Make supper
- Sew together felt ornaments for the Christmas tree
Wash bathroom sinks Scrub toilets Scrub showers Clear off desk
- Finish editing/post Thanksgiving album
Pick up toys in the living room
- Vacuum living room
- Go to the dump
- Go to the library and get some Christmas books to read with Christian
- Get groceries
- Post discussion questions for school

As I write this, the sky here is grey and cold with the promise of snow in the forecast. Hubby is at work for the evening and Christian is napping so it is the perfect time to curl up with a good book and some knitting (a cup of hot chocolate isn’t going to hurt any either). I am linking up with Ginny’s Yarn Along. You can join me by clicking the yarn ball below!
I recently started reading The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie after some good recommendations from some friends of mine. I am not far into it yet, but I like it so far! Flavia (the main character) is an eleven year old girl who is thrown into a mystery she is compelled to solve. I used to adore the Nancy Drew mysteries when I was younger and this book reminds me of that time.
My WIP is a shawl/scarf for my baby sister. It is called Hogwarts Express and I can’t wait to see her wear it! Hopefully I will be able to get it done before Christmas. She knows about it so it will not be a surprise, but the sooner I get it done, the sooner she will stop teasing me about working on everything but her scarf
Hey everyone! My 20CT list is a mixed bag today since Hubby and I are going to Augusta for the morning to run some errands. Since we have a bit of a ride, I plan on bringing some knitting and felt for the Christmas ornaments I am going to make for the tree today. The other highlight of my list is rearranging the living room furniture to make way for the Christmas tree! We don’t have ours yet, but I want to try out the new living room configuration for a couple of days to see if it will work for us before we have to move around a Christmas tree.
- Go to the dump
Turn on heat tape at the in-laws Pick up garage door opener at Home Depot Return shoes at Target Exchange shoes at Dick’s Sporting Goods Get bowstring fixed at Audette’s Work on knit hat for Craig Cut out felt ornaments for tree Take pictures of mitts and shawl Rearrange living room furniture– We decided to put the Christmas tree someplace different so we didn’t end up doing this, but I filled the fish tank up the rest of the way instead so I am crossing #10 off Vacuum living room Move extra stuff into the garage Dishes x2 Wash kitchen counters Wash table Sweep kitchen floor
- Vacuum bedroom
Scrub toilets Wash sinks Laundry x 2

Update: It is almost 11pm Tuesday here and with the exception of the dump and the bedroom, I have a completely crossed off list! Yay!
