20 Chore Tuesday – brought to you at 4am by my cranky baby

20 Chore Tuesday

It’s 20 Chore Tuesday time! I am less than motivated to get started this morning as my wonderful baby boy woke up at 4am restless and cranky due to a head cold and 2 (yes you heard that right, TWO) top teeth that decided that they needed to make an appearance yesterday morning. One episode of Sesame Street later, and I finally managed to get him back to sleep. I however, am up for the duration, so I am going to make the most of it and get my list done super early! This will be especially good since my in-laws are coming into town from Delaware early this afternoon 😀 Here is the breakdown:

First thing on my list:

  • Make 20 Chore Tuesday list and blog about it you may laugh, but this totally felt like a chore this morning and I get to check it off my list 🙂

SPARE BEDROOM

  • Change sheets
  • Move hunting stuff
  • Move baby stuff out of drawers
  • Vacuum
  • Dust

LIVING ROOM

  • Vacuum floor
  • Fold and put away the 3 loads of laundry residing on my couch

BATHROOMS

  • Sweep floors
  • Wash sinks
  • Scrub toilets
  • Scrub showers

KITCHEN

  • Sweep floor
  • Wash counters
  • Wash table
  • Unload/reload dishwasher

MY BEDROOM

  • Vacuum floor

OUT AND ABOUT

  • Doctor’s appointment – this should be (but is not) the last one in the series. Who knew freezing a stinking wart on my thumb would take so long :/

MISC

  • Empty trash
  • Put away diaper laundry
  • Eat 3 actual meals! This is something I have been having a really hard time with lately. I keep forgetting to eat, which I know is not good for me and especially not good for Christian since he is nursing a TON lately (drat those 2 teeth!)

Look at that! The first 3 things on my list are actually done! I might actually have a prayer of getting this done! Link up with me and my awesome friends by clicking the yellow button. It really does feel good to be productive 🙂

Update: Did the mad dash while Christian had a good nap and crossed off a ton of stuff on my list! Now to finish up before the in-laws get here. Stay tuned 🙂

Update: Everything done but the eating 🙂

Update: Take out pizza for dinner still counts as an actual meal right? 🙂

Commonground Fair!

It’s officially my favorite time of year! There is a nip in the air, all you can see are trees garbed in an explosion of red, orange, and yellow and the Commonground Fair has come to town. It is officially autumn! The Commonground Fair has become somewhat of a family tradition every year and I was especially excited this year since it was Christian’s first time! It is not a summer county fair with rides and tractor pulls (although those are so much fun and something that I do not miss each year as well), but it is equally as fun! It is a fair celebrating natural living, homesteading, and farming. There are tons of demonstrations, animal exhibits, yummy food, and (my personal favorite) YARN! I could tell you more but I will just let you see it 🙂

Christian was very excited!

The first stop was the children’s area

Then it was time for all the kids to get their faces painted before the children’s parade

After that, we checked out the animal demonstrations.

Christian LOVED the sheep 🙂

and the bunnies 🙂

He had more fun looking at the lights in the poultry barn though 😛

We got a bite to eat, then it was time for my favorite part

Three skeins of lovely natural-dyed and locally spun wool found its way into my bag from the vendor in the top right picture. By that time, the fair was closing up and it was time to go home. This was the scene on our walk through the field to our car.

I will leave you with my favorite picture of the day: my little boy loving the fair as much as I hoped he would 🙂

Update: It’s 11:30pm here. The diapers are in the dryer and while the shawl is not to the short rows yet, I did make some progress on it. My son is sleeping snuggled in my lap and I am thrilled that I made progress on everything on my list!

My week :)

Hubby has been on vacation this week and it has been amazing so I had to share some photos from it. This is the first week long vacation that he has been able to take since C was born and I cannot tell you how much him and I both needed it! C has enjoyed having his daddy around all week too 🙂

We started off the week by taking an infant and child CPR class. Hubby had never taken it and it had been a while for me so it was definitely good to get the refresher. The only other event for the week was a trip down to Portland (which is a ways away from us so we don’t get to go down hardly ever). Other than that, we have just stayed pretty local and enjoyed reconnecting as a family.

Hubby’s parents are coming up next week since their new place up here is finally done!  You can see a picture of the moving company with the house being moved onto the lot. It will be so nice to have them close by when they stay up here.

All in all, this has been an incredibly relaxing and refreshing week. I plan to make the most of the last little while we have left by snuggling with my guys tonight and watching a movie. Happy weekend!

20 Chore Tuesday #6

20 Chore Tuesday

Hey everyone! It’s 20 Chore Tuesday time! I’m linking up with Emily from Joyful Abode and all my other lovely IG friends out there 🙂 This weekend was filled with lots of hanging out and fun with friends but I am exhausted! This week’s list is more about meal prep and errands instead of cleaning, which suits me just fine 😉 Here it is:

LIVING ROOM

  • Vacuum floor

BEDROOM

  • Vacuum floor
  • Change sheets

BATHROOMS

  • Sweep floors
  • Mop floors
  • Wash sinks
  • Wash toilets

KITCHEN

  • Make chili
  • Make blueberry muffins (I use vanilla yogurt instead of sour cream in these. Yum!)
  • Sweep floor
  • Mop floor
  • Drain fish tank
  • Unload/reload dishwasher

OUT AND ABOUT

  • Go to library
  • Go to bank
  • Go to health food store for bulk spices
  • Walk in the park for 30 minutes * there was a surprise rain shower that kept us from doing this but while I was in town, I got a call from the eye doctor about my appointment today (which I completely forgot about!) so instead…..
  • Eye exam and new contact lens fitting appointment

MISC

  • Laundry x4
  • Fold and put away diapers
  • Finish knitting baby legging

The fish tank is going to require hubby’s help in the morning and the baby legging won’t be done tonight but I got some solid work done on it. I have to say 18 out of 20 isn’t bad! What’s on your list?
