WIP Wednesday

I love sharing my projects with you each week, even if it is the same one as the week before πŸ™‚ I am still plugging away at my candy cane socks and Call Me Mrs. Miracle. I have a good excuse though. I have been super busy this week getting ready for my first party as a host! This Sunday I am hosting a cookie swap party here at my house. Each family is going to bring cookies to share and cookies to swap and I will have drinks and appetizers here. It is sure to be a blast! I am really excited about it, can you tell? πŸ˜‰

As always, I’m joining along with Ginny’s Yarn Along! Play along and show me what you are working on!

WIP Wednesday

As I write this, Β the sky here is grey and cold with the promise of snow in the forecast. Hubby is at work for the evening and Christian is napping so it is the perfect time to curl up with a good book and some knitting (a cup of hot chocolate isn’t going to hurt any either). I am linking up with Ginny’s Yarn Along. You can join me by clicking the yarn ball below!
Yarn AlongI recently started reading The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie after some good recommendations from some friends of mine. I am not far into it yet, but I like it so far! Flavia (the main character) is an eleven year old girl who is thrown into a mystery she is compelled to solve. I used to adore the Nancy Drew mysteries when I was younger and this book reminds me of that time.

My WIP is a shawl/scarf for my baby sister. It is called Hogwarts Express and I can’t wait to see her wear it! Hopefully I will be able to get it done before Christmas. She knows about it so it will not be a surprise, but the sooner I get it done, the sooner she will stop teasing me about working on everything but her scarf πŸ™‚

WIP Wednesday!

I have been working on some lovely things lately, and I just can’t wait to share with you all πŸ™‚ I am linking up with the Small Things blog where there are lovely knitted and crocheted things to be found everywhere! You can link up with us by clicking the little yarn ball below.

First up is the Rustling Leaves BeretΒ from Coastal Knits. This book is near and dear to my heart since it features beautiful knits from my home state, Maine. I am using some luscious Wollmeise in Dark Magnolie and I am in love with how it is turning out!

I can’t remember a time where I did not have multiple things on the needles so the next pretty bit I am working on is Marin by Ysolda Teague. I have always been a fan of hers and have knit many of her shawls. This one, I think, is my favorite! It has worked so quickly and has been so much fun! This is knit with Rio de la Plata sock yarn.

And the last one I have on the needles is a lovely and addicting sock called Nutkin. The pattern is memorized almost as fast as you can read it the first time. It is pleasurable to knit without being boring and the self-striping Regia yarn I am using makes it that much more fun to craft πŸ™‚

Thanks for peeking in to see what I have on my needles! I would love to hear what you have on yours!
